Tewatati is an independent publication covering Indigenous nations, peoples, and communities across North America: Indian Tribes in the United States, First Nations in Canada, Indigenous peoples in Mexico, and urban Indian communities throughout the continent.
Our mission
We report on the issues that shape Indigenous life and self-determination, with journalism that is serious, accurate, and respectful of the communities it covers. Tewatati exists to inform readers across Indian Country and beyond, to hold power to account, and to bring wider attention to stories too often overlooked.
